During this time, we want to continue to help our customers send money to family and friends overseas.

Our business provides an essential service to the community. We provide an important and much-needed money transfer service that supports families of our customers who are overseas. We understand that this service is critical, especially during COVID-19, and will remain open during COVID-19 restrictions.

***Victorian Customers are now subject to stage 4 restrictions***

Our Victoria branches are open for walk-in customers however we encourage customers to purchase foreign currencies and send money online using our website, over the phone or email.

The health and safety of our valued customers, staff and the local community are always our top priority. Hai Ha Money Transfer is doing its best to provide a COVID-19 safe environment while you send or exchange money at all of our branches.

Our branches are open with social distancing and hygiene practices in place to ensure your visit to our branches is safe and stress-free including having hand sanitisers available for customers to use. Our staff has been trained to be COVID-19 safe and their health is monitored.

In addition to our active COVID-19 safe plan, we have proactively contracted Aeromist who will apply the Zoono surface sanitiser at our branch locations. This specialised surface sanitiser will give protection to our customers and staff for high-touch surfaces for up to 30 days against COVID-19. The NSW branches will have this surface sanitiser treatment from this week – week commencing 3 August 2020.

What are the conditions of entry at our branches?

To maintain the safety and health of our customers and our staff, we ask you not to enter our store if the following conditions apply:

  • You have tested positive for COVID-19;
  • You are awaiting the results of a test for COVID-19 or reside with anyone who is awaiting the results of a test for COVID-19;
  • You have any symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath;
  • You have been in contact with anyone who has or may have or COVID-19;
  • You have travelled overseas in the past 14 days.
Are the branches still open?
Yes – all branches are open except First Eastern FX Sydney – First Eastern FX Darlinghurst is nearby and open as normal. Please go to the Find & Contact Us page for the address, trading hours and contact number.
Are the branches accepting cash?
Yes – we are accepting cash, with our normal cash limits and also accept EFTPOS. You’re also able to pay by internet transfer, BPAY or POLi – contact us for more information.
Are you buying foreign currency at this time?
Yes – we are buying the following currencies: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, NZD, HKD, CAD, CNY, KRW, VND, IDR and SGD. Contact us if you wish to sell a different currency as we are trading up to 60 currencies.
Are you selling foreign currency at this time?
Yes – we are selling all currencies. There may be a slight delay in being able to fulfil your order but we will inform you once your order is placed. Contact us if you wish to check first.
Is the money transfer service online the same as in-branch?
Yes – exactly the same. If you visit a Hai Ha Money Transfer, Remox or First Eastern FX branch then service is the same as what is being offered online.
Is there any delay to the money transfer services?
No, we are operating as normal as we have both in-branch and online services.
Is there any delay to receive money in the country I send to?
At the moment, there are possible delays to:
  • Any pick-up services – depending on the restrictions in the receiving country
Is there anything else I should be aware of about COVID-19 and money transfers?
Yes - there will be many scammers who will try to take advantage of the fear of vulnerable people. Don't be a victim. Be alert to fraudulent emails, SMS messages, calls and social media saying they have information about the virus that may trick you to purchase fake cures, vaccines, medical supplies.
